Visit to the NICU

After a false start last night due to getting a little light-headed trying to do too much too soon, Rebecca and I went up to the NICU this evening and spent some time with Thomas and got to meet with Tina, Thomas' night-time primary nurse. Tina has been with the NICU for 27 years and taking care of children like Thomas is a life long passion. Tina explained what they are doing with Thomas, trying to keep his blood pressure up and moving forward.

Rebecca also got the opportunity to touch Thomas' hand. It was obviously emotional, but we left for the evening knowing that Thomas is being cared for by the best.

  2. Way to go Team Elliot!!! Thomas is beautiful! Consider us your personal cheering squad (and with Ryan you know we will be the loudest.) You are all in our thoughts and prayers and we would be honored to help in any way.

  5. Mike, Rebecca, and Thomas - You are in so many people's prayers and thoughts. I can hardly teach today because everyone has come by to ask about you, and all weekend the phone was ringing. We loved the pictures and can't wait to see more. Take care. With love, Carol Anne Caraway

  6. Mike, Rebecca, and Baby Thomas - Will and I are praying for your family each day; especially your little one. I am so sorry we were unable to make it up to the hospital. We were going to come up on Friday, but heard from the Stevics that Rebecca was going to have surgery. For this reason, we did not. I love your blog! Thank you for sharing each day with all of us. You are right Mike - your family is in the best hands possible. The Baylor Dallas NICU team is awesome (I know this I worked there). If the tables were turned, I would request my child be in the Dallas NICU as well. We love you guys and we will continue to check in!
    Love, Will and Jamie Ellis
